Did you only check that the glides were not to high (tapping), or also check
that they were not too low (back them off till they just tap, then reset)?
Since you say it works on the bench but not in the piano, there must be a
change in the keyframe shape.  Maybe your bench is warped.
When you test on the bench do you use a string height gauge and play a
pianissimo key strike?
