Re: Piano Dollies??The additional cost is $3000+ if I remember right and
they had to be made and shipped from Hamburg for us. That was about 1-2 yrs
ago. (I still a set of the original legs if anyone needs a set.)
I have put the heavy duty rubber ones (Darnell?) on two D's if care is used
in rolling it around and the floor is smooth. They have lasted over a year
w/no problems so far.

John,
In addition to what's already been suggested, it might be worthwhile to
check, since they're new, and see if Steinway would change out the legs
for the shorter ones with the large, wide brass wheels. I understand they
have those, although their might be a little additional cost. That's what
Baldwin had on their C & A grands when Abbey Simon had one brought in
for a recital. They seem to work well and look very nice.

Howdy List,
In December we took delivery on two new D's for our new performing
arts center. They are tucked away in a special climate controlled room off
stage. My boss wants to put them on permanent spider dollies. I think they
are UGLY in performance. They will only be moved from their "spa" out on
stage. Any suggestions???
