Piano Technician?LSU School of Music
POSITION: Research Specialist II. Salary commensurate with
qualifications. Twelve-month appointment. Full
benefits.
DUTIES: Responsible for tuning, regulation, repair, and
inventory management of all pianos in the School of
Music buildings.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Baccalaureate degree and substantial
experience as a piano technician. Desired: Certificate
from a certified piano technicians' training program
and substantial experience as a piano technician in a
college/university setting.
APPOINTMENT DATE: January, 2003, or by mutual agreement.
GENERAL
INFORMATION: The LSU School of Music serves over 450 music majors
with approximately 50 faculty and 75 graduate
assistants. It sponsors nearly 300 recitals, concerts,
operas, and lectures each academic year. Degrees
offered include the PhD (with concentrations in
composition, music education, musicology, and music
theory), DMA (concentrations in choral conducting,
performance, wind conducting), MM, BM, BME, and BA
(Liberal Arts).
LSU has an enrollment of over 31,000 students and is
located in Baton Rouge, the state capital of Louisiana
and a city with a metropolitan area population of
approximately 500,000. The city supports a symphony
orchestra, a ballet company, and a professional
theatre.
