Michelle- In the early 1990's Fern Henry wrote an article in the Journal on assessing the condition of vertical pianos, very helpful. I have a condition report form for grand/vertical I made BPC. (Before Personal Computer) When I was doing school work on contracts, it helped to have an assessment of the pianos when I first saw them, and useful to point out something to a dept. head and say "blah, blah this piano since such a date, etc." Or even to look and realize I'd actually made something better.
