I had a feared deformation under impact after the grinding.

I appreciate your contributions and respond to your query on pin
drivers.  I
modified a standard punch with a Moto Tool grinding bit and have used
it for
50 years. It has an internal radius a little greater than that of the
tuning
pin tip.
