If they're not too torn, a little gaffing tape repair on the seat might make
them useful in the shop. I took the legs off one, removed the mechanism,
glued blocks in the corners and installed rubber casters. It makes a great
low dolly to sit on while leveling keys and elicits lots of curious
comments.

Thanks for the suggestions on reupholstering our 2 really, REALLY beat up
artist benches.  The calls I've made indicate that no one wants to try on
these old Manual Arts relics.  I will probably end up sending them to
dumpster.com.
