Oops.  I forgot the centimeters were squared.  You originally said 1,000,000
and I assumed you were thinking in 1000's (like anyone else not living in
the 1800's).  Now you're absolutely correct.  If you square the 100 you get
10,000, then multiply by 1000 and you get 10,000,000.  Sorry for the
confusion.
