---------------------- multipart/mixed attachment All, Last September I posted here about a problem D (heavy action) at a local Jr. college. The college said they purchased the piano from Faust Harrison. The "D" thread is in the archives at: http://tinyurl.com/yqltr I received very helpful responses. Two need to be singled out: On Sep 5, 2003, at 9:36 PM, David Love wrote: > My guess is that they used original dimension parts, i.e. 15.5 mm > knuckle > placement. ... you will have to rehang the hammers on proper > shanks. > That will also give you the opportunity to taper the hammers and > adjust the > weight to match the new ratio you will be creating. This is exactly what I did. Worked like a charm. Darn close to a home run. ---------------------- multipart/mixed attachment A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Stephen Hough was engaged to play in the hall in late October, played a few chords on the heavy D and requested a different piano. He played his concert on a Baldwin SD-10 to mixed reviews. At that point I was given a green light to fix the D. In the last few days, Arnaldo Cohen was _very_ helpful to me in getting the final adjustments and voicing done to the piano. And he was very complimentary in return. Sometimes things work out. There is no way I could have done this work without the knowledge that I got right here from y'all. Many thanks, Kent Swafford ---------------------- multipart/mixed attachment--
