All,

Last September I posted here about a problem D (heavy action) at a
local Jr. college. The college said they purchased the piano from Faust
Harrison.

The "D" thread is in the archives at:

I received very helpful responses. Two need to be singled out:

This is exactly what I did. Worked like a charm.

Well, attached is a PDF of the review of a concert last night that used
the piano in question. Darn close to a home run.

After I evaluated the piano in September, the hall management declined
to have me do any real corrective work. Stephen Hough was engaged to
play in the hall in late October, played a few chords on the heavy D
and requested a different piano. He played his concert on a Baldwin
SD-10 to mixed reviews.

At that point I was given a green light to fix the D. In the last few
days, Arnaldo Cohen was _very_ helpful to me in getting the final
adjustments and voicing done to the piano. And he was very
complimentary in return.

Sometimes things work out. There is no way I could have done this work
without the knowledge that I got right here from y'all.

Many thanks,

Kent Swafford
