Loose tuning hammer tip

Hi Joe, all,
I still think the taper of the shaft doesn't match the taper of the
head. A new Schaff tuning hammer will go through this process. Drive
you crazy. The shaft actually grinds off into the head, as it does it
loosens. At some point it is almost not removable. Until you get
enough threads (about 5-7 turns worth) ground off the shaft, it will
drive you absolutely nuts. I sent one back to Schaff and Mr. Johnson
thinks it was cross threaded, but it was not.

I miss APSCO and Tuners Supply. The taper they used was not as steep.
Never had this problem with them.

Jeff
