Hi Dan, Nice idea, but this would still mean the bottom cover has to be unfastened to check the water levels. I'd suggest a "two" light system one that glows only when the humidifier is full--and the regular "flashing light" system. This would be not a cheap fix--but a wonderful upgrade.
