A little disclaimer.... I'm not an employee of Petrof and or Geneva, so some
of my information may be sketchy....... I highly recommend that your customer
contact her dealer and or Geneva directly to relay any fears she may have.

With that said.

>From what I know Petrof is doing just fine..... granted many new piano
supplies have found this past year slow going.

Not too long ago Petrof came under new management / ownership.... I'm not
sure of the exact details.... But the change over wasn't due to major finance
problems.....

Also, Geneva and Petrof re worked their distribution agreement. Remember,
Geneva is just the US distributor and is just one of many customers the Petrof
has. As to a "bail out" of Petrof by Geneva, we'll that's sounds highly
unlikely. So its possible that someone took this renegotiation of a distribution
agreement as a bad sign or somehow by some stretch of the imagination took this
information and made the assumption that Petrof and or Geneva was in trouble.
Which again from what I know is not the case?

One thing I found interesting about the posting was that the customer thought
she made a mistake by buying a Petrof because of potential finance problems.
We'll that sounds a bit odd to me..... if she likes the way the piano plays,
sounds, looks, etc.etc...... when she bought the piano....what would it matter
if the company did go under... ( which again is not happening ) If for some
reason Steinway went out of business tomorrow, would that mean that all
Steinways would somehow become worthless, or that all of a sudden Steinway blocks and
boards would fail. Most likely this wouldn't be the case. I can understand her
potential fears about warranty service ... however Petrof is good size
company, and if for some reason they did go out of business, someone would pickup
the company and at the very least parts would be available if needed. But
again, from everything I know Petrof is not having any major problems.

Again if she is still "worried" I would have her call her dealer and or
Geneva directly .

Hope that this information is of some use.
