[CAUT] Plating on Diamond Brand Tuning pins chipping

Please forgive double posting (to pianotech and CAUT).  There are people 
who are only on one or the other.

Has anyone had experience with the nickle plating on the Diamond tuning 
pins chipping or otherwise flaking on the top (area contacted by the pin 
punch)?  Is this common to all plated pins, or can the punch that was used 
be too hard?
