This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment I have the piano faculty pianos set for 4 times per year. I also have an on-line calendar that anyone at the school can access and request a tuning. I post times when I'll be available and they can sign up for a time that is convenient for them. It works well. That way if something untoward happens they can just schedule me in there at a time that's good for them and it's done. I hate starting on a piano only to have the teacher come in and say they need to teach now. =20 =20 Incidentally, this software will be available for sale soon. I've had it a couple of years as the software writer is in the office right across the hall from me. It's now past beta and about ready for distribution. =20 dp =20 David M. Your piano faculty should be very, very thankful you are tuning the pianos once a week! I'm afraid I'm one of the "8 week" guys but my goal is to tune them much more often than that (however in my defense, I usually catch all the odd jobs that they can cram under the "technical director" umbrella--and believe me it's a huge umbrella. Interestingly the Chair has told me several times to let him know when the "odd jobs" were interfering with my piano care, but when I do, he just ignores the comment!). Tell your piano faculty that 1) I don't think they deserve you and 2) to get their hearing checked or take a piano tuning course. They'll realize when a concert style instrument is going out of tune! =20 Thanks for setting the standard! =20 Joy! They want to know why their pianos need tuning once a week. (and they do need it, especially during the winter). One of the professors claims that at another university she worked at, her piano lasted 8 weeks.=20 =20 How often are you guys tuning the piano faculty pianos, presuming they get played heavily about 30 hours a week? =20 Wim=20 Willem Blees, RPT Piano Technician School of Music University of Alabama ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
