[CAUT] Inharmonious tones

For any of you who may be encountering strange, high-pitched, inharmonious
sounds in the third octave plain strings and/or ringing sounds in some bass
strings, I recommend my new book, "Longitudinal Modes in Piano Strings",
which the PTG Foundation is selling. These may or may not be what you are
hearing. The PTG Foundation is the only entity authorized to sell my book,
and 100% of all proceeds from its sales go to the Foundation. I didn't
want any royalty, didn't ask for any, and don't get any. This is the way I
wanted it to be.

Also, if someone sends me a recording of the inharmonious sound in
question, I can usually analyze it and determine if it is a longitudinal
mode, and if so, what's exciting it. If anyone is interested, you will
need to contact me privately.

Sincerely, Jim Ellis
