    Hi Mark:
    I have one also and used it for several years.  It is a form of 
catalytic heater, the flame heats a grid which then produces heat, it does a 
good job.  Pros: Compact, quick, safe, hi tech.  Cons: Expensive, blackens 
the shank and the grid eventually burns out.  I use a charcoal grill lighter 
now.
