I'm gonna guess that the legs' glue joints were already toast from 
years of bouncing over the thresholds. It looks like it happened when 
the two front wheels failed to make the jump...

I've been noticing some joints opening up on some of the legs here 
and hope to reglue them before I can take a similar picture. Timing 
is everything, they say.
