Les, If there was a way to keep it private, and insure that it was only used on Kawai pianos, our R&D lab would not hesitate to send us some of their super-duper hide glue. Our laboratory operates very much like a race car development team, with the top end concert grand being as cutting edge as they know how to make it. If you consider it in that light, then it is more understandable that they would not want another company to have access to the glue. Even though it is just one small contributor to the tone of the piano, it would be foolish to develop the glue then sell it to others for a few bucks. If you ever have reason to replace hammers on an EX, let me know. With a specific serial number, I can get the special glue, plus hammers which match the weight of the originals.
