Jon, This seems to be the best solution instead of roughing the tail, which seems to work by masking the actual problem. What is the "formula" for this, if indeed there is one? The angle of the back check and hammer tail arc are critical. When the two collide, the tactile sense at the front of the key should not be a thump. The thump I call 'knuckling-in'.
