Eric, On the left is an older D leg that someone cut down to install the German caster. On the right is the new Hamburg leg I replaced the older ones with. So yes, the Hamburg leg is made shorter proportionally. When they are cut down, they look funny. You can see in the picture that I just stuck the caster into the old leg for the picture so it sticks up a tad. Also, you can notice that the caster is counter sunk into the leg on the new leg for a better look. The cut down version on the left is a little sloppier looking.
