[CAUT] BALDWIN tray-height?List,

These are all great replies, thanks!

What I haven't heard yet (thankfully) is that the taper is by design... yet another astute 1/2 pedaling modification that must be preserved. (yipes)

I have run across the too-short damper-wire scenario (always during, never before ;>), and a previous technician related some difficulties after installing Yamaha felt on one of these instruments. Thanks for the cautions.

Will look forward to working with new key-end/tray felt in nice level horizontal lines...., maybe in June?

Here's hoping!

thanks,

Tom replies,
What about plugging the hole on the treble block and re-drilling to
match the bass block? >>

What about dropping the bass 1/16" and raising the treble by 1/16"?
That should keep everything in the ball park inre action geometry while solving
the taper problem.
