I adjust the pivot height such that the key lifts the underlever to be parallel with the key bed at full key stroke. This produces the least friction. If the key lifts the underlever higher than parallel, it scrubs on the back edge of the lifter felt. If it lifts shy of that, it scrubs into the lifter felt and may dig a trough. If there is an issue with the line-of-center, adjust that via lifter felt height, not pivot height. While you're at it, place the pivot pin in-line with the flange centers. -- Regards, Jon Page
