Hey, Alan, David, Jon (& everybody else),

Thank you all for your comments.  I really didn't expect this kind of
response; I just thought I had a halfway good idea.

You're right, David.  Ralph only has the pre-cut balance rail inserts
available right now.  I talked to him about this a year or so ago when I
first decided to try it out.  I have also mentioned it to Bob Marinelli.  Of
course, what they actually end up doing will be strictly based on demand.
Rick Wheeler at Roseland will custom make a strip for you.  DON'T use maple,
though.  I dulled my cutter a bit on the maple and now I have that to deal
with.  I think my first choice would be poplar.
