 Maybe that's just a new design for those who like to put about 6 coils on the tuning pin!  Either that or they've started free hand drilling those things

Hey, check the rest of the pins.  Maybe some of them have the hole drilled through the threaded portion.  You can still make wind chimes out of them.

Aside from being askew, does it go all the way through?

I've had a few pins with no holes and partial holes and askew...

so what's so abnormal??
