Right under your fingertips!  Slowly press a key down past the escapement,but 
not yet in contact with the punching.  Then, while holding the key at this 
position, hit it, hard, with your other hand.  Hear anything?  
   That noise will be a component of the sound of the note being played 
normally. Anything that affects that noise will affect the sound of the note.
