Fellow Technicians, I have heard, indirectly, that Sandy West died in Atlanta, Ga. She suffered from breast cancer that, for a long while, had seemed to be in remission. She was very private about her struggle. I will remember her as a coworker tech and confidant with me at the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music during the mid 90's. She was along side of me when I did the first bridge modification at CCM, which later came to be called Wapin. She was genuinely excited and encouraging about it all along the way. She roped in one of our first rebuilders, her former classmate in Lansing, Chris Glattly who continues to champion Wapin. She was also a tuning tutor at nearly every PTG convention until her first bout with cancer. It's hard to accept the loss of someone so vibrant and in her prime. She is survived by her husband and 17 year old daughter. Michael Wathen Sound Consultant Wapin Company LLP 513-300-8047 http://www.wapin.com
