One thing that has not been mentioned is the screws used for the back under-lever flanges, and indeed all flanges used on all Renner actions. They look like Philips screws, but they are in fact not Philips at all. They are PoziDrive screws (size 2 heads). These differ slightly from Philips in that they have an additional set of small recesses forming a star recess in the head. PoziDrive screws are easily identified by the X-shaped marking on the head: -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... This became very obvious at an all day back action class I attended at a regional this past spring. Everyone in the class encountered the same difficulty using the wrong screwdriver. Renner has been using PoziDrive screws exclusively for a few decades now. It is interesting that word has never seemed to get out, at least not here in North America. [This was even news to the folks who represent and supply these parts when i pointed it out to them at the National.] Renner actions used to have a stickers on them saying to only use a PoziDrive 2 screwdriver on the flange screws. As we all know, the right tool for the job makes things a lot easier, more efficient and causes less damage to the work piece. A PoziDrive tip looks like this: -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... If there is demand I will stock up on this item. Personally, I think any tech who comes within ten feet of a Renner action should not be without the proper tool.
