Not yet Paul.

Ed Foote said something that I haven’t experienced with Steinways; that he
has found a lot of bad wire in brand new pianos! I’ve got several more
options than I had 4 hours ago.

Regards,
Jim

Jim,

Have you tried replacing a few of the worst offending strings? Strings
level and seated?

List,

I know there are volumes written about this on archives, but help me here.

On a new B in the upper octave only I have several strings with strong
false beats. All bends are made, etc. Bridge pins are tight, CA glued.
Pushing on the pin with a screwdriver doesn’t help. It’s new, so I don’t
think the v-bar is an issue. What to do??? What am I overlooking? Ron, is
it design?

Thanks.
Jim Busby
