Hi Andy,

Thanks... am using Tunelab so I could easily enough calibrate my Pocket 
PC to 500 or 600 hz using the NIST tuning file to do so.  Found 
telephone number this also at Tunelabs site after I wrote this querry.

    The only telephone-based 440 reference I've found is to dial WWV,
    which is 303-499-7111 (happens to be a local call for me :-).  But
    it isn't a very convenient source of a 440 pitch --it only plays it
    during the 1st minute of each hour, and not during the first hour of
    each UTC day.
