Have any of you all seen the Piano Buyer, Larry Fine's twice-a-year replacement of his annual supplement to The Piano Book? Besides having the Piano Company Profiles and the Model and Pricing Guide, it has articles which will cycle through a few issues, with new ones coming in periodically. Two noteworthy articles are Buying Pianos for an Institution by George Litterst (educator, clinician, author, performer, and developer of music software), and Piano Maintenance in Institutions by Chris Solliday (RPT, RVP, caut, etc.). Chris makes prominent mention of the Guidelines for Effective Institutional Piano Maintenance--it even gets a large graphic in the article. Altogether edge-of-the-seat breakfast reading! Here's hoping this widens the audience for informed institutional piano maintenance.
