[CAUT] Action Rail Flange Cloth

I prefer 220 grit, lightweight sandpaper. Stick it down with double stick tape. Keeps the flanges from creeping as happens with the glue backed felt. I don’t hear a problem with noise. If you want to deal with changes in humidity change the screws out to the Renner type with pressure washers or add one to the existing screws.

Hi All,

What do you all use for action rail flange cloth, or do you just get some from Steinway or wherever...?

This L I'm working on is in bad shape. I took the old hammer flanges off today and the cloth underneath literally disolved in my hands into dust. Has anyone used stringing braid cloth?

Thanks
Paul
