Did Stuart get a patent on the concept? I know that Richard Dain of  
Hurstwood Farm, the developer of the Phoenix system, says up front  
that the bridge agraffe has been around since the 1800s. Hurstwood  
Farm carries Stuart, so I have assumed that Dain took what Stuart had  
been doing and added his own refinements.
