<HTML>I have a question about when to replace plain wire. I can recognize when bass strings need to be replaced. But at what point should treble wires be replaced? I don't hear any difference when I replace a broken string on even a 100 year old piano. Are there guidelines, or other factors, that determine when plain wire strings should be replaced.
