PS. I wonder...if you used a drilled out grand damper guide rail towards
the bottom to keep the strings from swinging around, would that
work? Of course, you'd run into the same problem I had. How
do you then adjust the dampers? ( - <u>l</u> - )<br><br>

I just took an old upright let off rail and:<br><br>
-flipped it upside down<br>
-turned the let off screws most of the way up (close to the rail for
support)<br>
-opened up the eyelets<br>
-counted my Steinway M number of strings<br>
-numbered the rail above the eyelets<br>
-sawed off the section of the rail I didn't need<br>
-screwed the whole thing into the back of my shop door<br>
-popped my strings on<br>
-squeezed the eyelets closed a titch<br>
-admired how spiffy it all looks<br>
-told you guys about it<br>
-dreamed of the awards I'll receive<br><br>
