The result is that some glue made it through to the center pin. Somehow, and = I’m not sure how, heavy use accelerates this problem. Perhaps the sizing = solution was such that the glue never hardened and the heat of the heavy = repetition drew the glue to the pin. I’ve seen this on an older Petrof and some = Korean pianos. All are in high use. When you pull the center pin you will see = residue on it. <span class=SpellE>Protek</span> works but is VERY temporary in = this case. I have simply <span class=GramE>repined</span> all the seized = flanges I’ve encountered and have yet to see a reoccurrence. <span style='mso-spacerun:yes'> </span>The pianos I deal with that have = this problem have reoccurrences in other flanges at a rate of about one per = year. I find they serve as a good reminder for the client to have their piano = tuned again.
