<div>the shank or rub it against an upright shank (carefully!).</div>

<div>I've heated with the Bic occasionally but don't want to do it too
often</div>
<div>for the reason mentioned first off.</div>

<div>I've blackened shanks with both alcohol and butane, the trick is
to keep</div>
<div>the flame moving and at the proper distance.</div>
