<!doctype html public "-//W3C//DTD W3 HTML//EN"> <html><head><style type="text/css"></style><title>[CAUT] Steinway Technical</title></head><body> <div>><font face="Arial" size="-4" color="#000000">I like powdered Teflon in the bushings.  A pipe cleaner works great.</font></div> <div><br></div> <div>I do as well but insert it into a section of player tracker bar tubing as a handle.</div> <div>With only 1/2" protruding out the end of the handle, the pipe cleaner is 'stiffer'.</div> <div><br></div> <div>I've worked out a quick method of application:</div> <div><br></div> <div>Dip the end of the applicator into the powder and lightly tap off excess.</div> <div><br></div> <div>With the key in the other hand, apply the powder to the balance rail bushing</div> <div>with your thumb in-line with the mortice slot (important alignment - you'll see).</div> <div><br></div> <div>Flip the key over and apply powder to the front rail bushing, now your thumb</div> <div>will be perpendicular to the mortice slot (removing powder from the previously</div> <div>untouched edges of the applicator).
