<DIV><FONT face=arial size=2>IMHO Meantone means 1/4 comma. This is the one that gives pure 3rds. There are other "meantones" such as 1/6 but the one in general use historically was 1/4th comma. Since they can all be tuned by machine you might want to check with someone to see what was actually being used. But Groves is the authority* and the article Temperament is where all the info is.
