font-family:Arial'>Damper felt is (According to Eric S.) negatively impacted by
placing the dampers in a holder where the felt is resting on the holder. This
is why they use trays where the dampers rest upside down (wires pointing to the
ceiling). HOWEVER, after dropping a tray and scattering dampers all over I came
up with this idea (attached). <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

font-family:Arial'>Place dampers in the tray (through the holes) then put on
the upstop rail, then flip it over. This way if you don’t get around to
the job for a few weeks (months?) the felt is not ruined. Very easy to use and
to make. Although it does look a bit funny.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
