At a convention a year or two ago, I recall seeing a knock off of the Japanese pliers (my personal all-around favorite) available for $40.00 or so. Can't remember what supply house it was, but looked like they were worth a try (and recommended them to an aspirant who was just tooling up).<br>

I'm leaning towards these, but would they be a nuisance for the balance<br>

Of all the features I've seen (parallel action, front-rail access, pivoting<br>
center-jaw, etc.) all that's really important to me is something that is<br>
comfortable to use, and sensitive enough to make fine adjustments. I would<br>
also choose versatility over specialty.<br>

Can anyone offer some "seasoned" recommendations?<br>
