They don't have the budget at this point to have a full or half time position for piano technician. This means they also don't have the budget to worry about minor case damage. I have just this month completed regulating and voicing the primary D and B on the music hall stage for the first time in way too long. The second priority is practice room Ls and Ms for piano major use. The third priority is faculty studio maintenance. Although the performance instruments sound and play at a high level, it would be nice to have a major donor cough up the dough to do some serious rebuilding on the other 2 dozen aging Steinways.
