The reason Chris makes half a million is because highly paid businessmen are willing to pay him handsomely to save them money. The more they save, the more money he makes. Unfortunately, no matter how well, or how poorly, we prep a piano, as an employee of a university, we get paid the same. If, by chance, the university can make more money with a better piano, they will in turn pay us more.
