<WBR>As far as a power tool to remove Baldwin dowels. I haven't tried this, but I wonder if the tool used for removing broken screws would work. (I forgot what that's called.) Drill a prep hole in each dowel, and the use that tool with a reversible drill, and take the dowel off. <br>

Don't those actions have the removable let-off rails? With their <br>
attachment screws accessible through the hammer flanges? Anything you do <br>
to them could be done out in the open and not in the stack, whether it <br>
is replacing felt or the entire dowel.<br>
