I just tried some on very dented-in
wippen cushions. It worked pretty well. I think for damper
bushings and key bushing it works better IMHO. what else has anyone
used it for?
The stuff is from Pianotek. It is a lubricant
with silicon polymers
that also temporarily swells the felt and allows resizing. We have been
playing with it for about a month here and it seems to work well. We
have done experiments with rebushing after use and it does not seem to
affect future adhesion. So far we have restored a more solid feel
to a
number of sets. We are about to try it wholesale to the bushings
of our
performance practice rooms. We have also used it on new bushings
as way
to lubricate and more consistently size the new bushings. So far,
I
like what I see.
I've been having good success with a variety of keybushings by using a
drop
of VSProfelt right on the pin marks and then cold brass cauls overnight.
.003-.005 over for front rail and same size or .001 over for the
balance.
