1. Bacterial growth decomposing the pads and the whole mess =
sticking to
the bar. (Hot soapy water and a scrub brush have cured =
this.)
This happens with some frequency when Humidifier Treatment is not =
used. 2.
Corrosive well water that actually eats away at the aluminum. This =
is rare
as the pH needs to get down to 5.5 or so. Since this process is
destructive there isn't much you can do.</FONT></DIV>
