that doesn&#8217;t change my view of some of the problems, it does =
change how you
can realistically address them and I would opt for string seating, =
making sure
the hammers are hard enough underneath and aren&#8217;t <span =
class=SpellE>mushing</span>
out in the upper area of the piano, hammer shape and fitting.<span
style='mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>For focus I think you need a =
pretty firm
supporting structure of the hammer that is not too hard on the =
crown&#8212;iron
fist in a velvet glove.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>If =
you have
an iron glove in a velvet fist, achieving power by a few drops of =
hardener on
the surface without the support underneath, then when you play the piano =
loud
the hammer will collapse and you&#8217;ll lose focus.<span
style='mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; </span>That&#8217;s my opinion =
anyway.<span

able to hear it when the jack releases off the knuckle.<span

because the

problem is
that the D hammer is pretty heavy and there needs to be a lot of tension =
in the
spring, so when the jack releases it can slap pretty hard on the spoon. =

probably help
though, at least for awhile.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>&nbsp; =

I misinterpreted the faculty's comments. It wasn't &quot;brassy&quot; as =
such,
as much as it lacked focus. I perceived this to mean to bright. So I =
voiced it
down. But now he says it has lost it's power. He says the hammers will =
never
come back. Is he right, or is there a way to get the power back on
without&nbsp;them becoming too brassy?<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

other problem, which I also misunderstood, is a noisy action. He said =
something
about it when he complained about uneven voicing with the soft pedal
on,&nbsp;but I missed his comments. I compared the action noise with =
that of
the other D, and there does seem to be a little more action noise. I've
narrowed it down to when the hammer returns, kind a of a mild knocking
sound.&nbsp;I tried voicing up the wippen cushion, but that didn't do =
anything.
Could it be that the back under key felt is too hard? Would that solve =
the
noisy action? (remember, this piano is less than 2 years old. =
<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
