<DIV><FONT face="Century Gothic"> I have come upon =
an old
Henry Miller Grand at Greenville College with a strange =
sostenuto(strange to
me). There is a row of thick red felts hanging down from a spring =
under
each of the underlevers and the free end has a small block of wood =
glued to
the felt. Only about three of them actually work and I =
cannot figure
out why they do and the rest don't. Most of them just push back =
away from
the rod. I should mention that the few that work don't work =
properly, they
always lift the damper regardless of whether the note is played or =
not.
Anybody got a clue? Richard Murphy, =
