<html> Wim,   A block of wood with three or four usable dimensions is practical, but not truly stable without a little Velcro. On the other hand (you've got different fingers), you can get one of the brass short sticks (Supply house) and cut it to length, Mount it on top of the current short stick. Two screws and a few minutes with a hacksaw and sand paper. While you're at it, check and/or replace the babybuggybumpers on the long stick. Gazzilion bucks. You da hero.
