Subject: New Product
I've enjoyed the information on the "new" products for pianos, this one however
is real.
Protek Lubricants has recently developed a new fluoropolymer which will protect
unfinished keys and action parts from liquid damage, coffee, tea,
coke, water, juice etc.. The product forms a molecular net bonding to the wood
allowing the wood to breath but not allowing liquids to pass through. Liquids
bead up and shed off. It's easy to apply by spraying or brushing. Testing has
included submerging keys in water for an hour to spilling coke, that's right C-
oca Cola onto the keys while in the piano. While the control keys warped stuck
and twisted, the treated keys were undamaged.
We think most piano owners would be interested in an product that will protect
their instruments from damage. It will also provide piano technicians with an
additional service to piano owners that requires technical expertise.
Your serious feedback would be appreciated.
