I've used the procedure of bolts back through the plate and posts (with
epoxy or resin), when the block was separating from the frame, but I've
not seen this situation where the block exhibits a horizontal crack,
allowing the block to fold in on itself, slightly. I'm assuming this would
not be possible if the block was well-fitted to the plate in the first place.
