I've done some on the old Baldwins in the past.  I did a kindof rebuild on
an "E" about 15 years ago and I thought it was fine.  Here at SMU we have
30 Steinway grands and 10 Baldwin grands.  I have found them to be very
nice pianos - particularly the SF-10s.  The "Rs" are great for their size
too.  You can get the stringing scale on the "E" from Baldwin.  It was a
pretty nice scale.  I know I'd go back to the orriginal on it.
